Queensland Hydro is partnering with James Nash and Gympie State High School to deliver STEM focused scholarships for Year 11 and 12 students in 2023, 2024 and 2025.
Queensland Hydro is committed to supporting the development of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) skills in the Mary Valley and Gympie region.

Junior Secondary Scholarships
Gympie State High School (GSHS) is proud to offer a range of Junior Secondary scholarships to students who meet a specific criteria. Scholarship applicants are required to submit a written application and undertake an interview with the Principal and Deputy Principal. Our scholarships support students to continue to achieve in their chosen field by providing uniforms, bursaries and mentoring associated with the specific scholarship.
GSHS offers the following scholarships:
Academic Excellence Scholarship
Agricultural Scholarship
Aunty Olive Bennet Indigenous Scholarship
Sporting Scholarship
Creative Industries- Dance, Drama, Music, Visual Arts
Successful recipients will be formally recognised and presented with their scholarship on the schools Annual Awards Evening. Scholarship applications will be available from GSHS administration or your primary school Principal during term 2 please contact the school for application dates. All shortlisted applicants will be interviewed.
All scholarship recipients will be reviewed annually and must maintain their levels of achievement, attendance and behaviour to retain their scholarship bursaries.
